About Jack Ludden

Jack Ludden is a cultural heritage expert who builds open and collaborative work environments by bridging experts from different fields of interest. Jack has been a leader in the cultural heritage community for more than 30 years as a digital advocate, communications specialist, and a user-experience expert at organizations such as the Getty, Disney, and the Shoah Visual History Foundation. He is also the Collections Management Director for the Sandor Family Collection and an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University. Jack is an active board member of The Book Truck and the Northwestern's Alumni Association. He has been strong advocate of American Alliance of Museums and continues to volunteer with them. Currently, Jack works with the dynamic and talented team at Balboa Park Online Collaborative as a Digital Experience and Innovation Strategist.

Jack has been fortunate to work with both large and small museums. These roles have allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of museum operations. Moreover, he wants to create work environments that are collaborative, ambitious, and grounded in sustainable outcomes. Jack wants to cultivate outstanding relationships across an organization and is known for playing a pivotal role as a collaborator and change agent.  Jack has extensive expertise in guiding numerous distribution channels (Public websites, intranets, on-site technologies, online publishing, mobile apps, etc.) as well as publishing and maintaining hundreds of thousands of web pages. He also has significant profession experience in guiding social media and social networking, overseeing digital content strategy, guiding digital brand, web navigational layout, metadata management, large email campaigns, and posting hundreds of videos and blog post.

Jack champions a decentralized digital work environment that relies on robust enterprise technologies, effective workflows, and an organizational commitment to data-informed decision-making. To Jack, a positive work environment helps build and support exceptional visitor experiences that are useful, relevant, and innovative. Jack believes an organization’s commitment to a digital strategy is most important. He finds enjoyment in connecting strategy to the day-to-day tactical work that helps strengthen an organization’s capabilities. Whether someone is a museums expert or a first-time museum visitor, Jack believes that technology allows a museum to meet people where they are. Jack holds an M.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and B.A. from Northwestern University. Outside of his professional commitments, Jack is a devoted father of two and actively participates in his community. He is a crafting enthusiast. Jack Ludden has a unique combination of executive ability, empathetic heart, creative spirit, and true dedication to improve the entire museum experience.
